教育是一项“仁而爱人”的事业,仁爱之心是现代教师职业精神的核心。在既有研究中,普遍将“仁”与“爱”等同理解,但这并不切合儒家思想之要旨,因此,如何以思想史中“仁”的创造转化为知识基础重新阐释现代教师的仁爱之心,纠正已有解释之偏,成为当前学界重要的理论问题。研究揭示,“仁”在现代转化过程中,逐步呈现出个人自我实现的内外部相互作用的社群主义趋向。这一新的范式赋予现代教师仁爱之心以全新的意义,它不是指教师内在的情感-心理状态,而是强调群体交流的社会实践属性,社群主义是其本质属性,对超越性的追寻是其根本精神旨归,反“儿童中心”是其价值坐标。这些是中国式现代教师职业区别于西方的根本特征。

Education is a progress centered on caring for students,and the essence of a modern teacher’s professional ethos lies in possessing compassion.However,all the existing studies generally agree that “Ren”(仁) and “love” have the same meaning,which does not accord with the original intent of Confucianism.Therefore,how to reinterpret the meaning of modern teachers’ compassion based on the creative transformation of Confucian “Ren”,and address the limitations of previous interpretations is a key theoretical challenge in contemporary educational scholarship.The research reveals that “Ren” shows the tendency of internal and external interaction of individual self-realization in the process of modernity transformation.This new interpretive paradigm imbues teachers’ compassion with a renewed significance.It no longer refers to an internal psychological state but emphasizes the social practice of collective interaction.Communitarianism is its essential attribute,the pursuit of transcendence is its fundamental spiritual aim,and a critique of “child-centeredness” serves as its value framework.These elements are the core characteristics that distinguish the modern Chinese teaching profession from its Western counterparts.
