- 抗日战争初期，为了解决国内财政和战争经费等困难，国民政府于1937年成立了以宋子文为会长的“救国公债劝募总会”，在南洋和欧美等华侨聚居地开展募集抗战经费等活动。陈嘉庚与宋子文在1937年至1939年间共往来了41份电函，主要商讨在新加坡和马来亚等南洋地区募捐事宜。
- Abstract:
- In the early stage of the Anti-Japanese War, in order to solve the problems domestic finance and funds for the war, the national government in 1937 established “Salvation Bonds Fundraising Association” with Song ziwen as president. The Association conducted fund-raising activities in Southeast Asia and Europe and the United States and other areas where overseas Chinese lived. During 1937 to 1939, there were 41 telegraphs between Chen Jiageng and Song Ziwen, mainly discussing matters about fund-raising in Singapore and Malaya in Southeast Asia.
