目前较多研究认为中国特色词语的翻译以异化策略为主。以《经济学人》中国专栏中出现的相关词语为语料,分类并讨论了它们的常用翻译策略,着重利用批评性话语分析理论对其翻译的意识形态倾向进行分析,结果显示意识形态的操控主要表现在直译或音译时的解释文字部分,名词化、被动态以及积极或消极评价词汇的使用是意识形态的表现手段,而整个英语语篇才是意识形态的主要表现层面。
Abstract:
Researches up till now believe that foreignization is the major strategy to render China-featured terms. This study classifies the China-featured terms from Economists, followed with discussion about common strategies that the media adopt to render. Then a critical discourse analysis on the rendition of these terms is conducted, finding that ideological manipulation can be traced when the words are rendered by the way of literal translation/transliteration plus explanation. The study has also found that ideology can be often examined by three kinds of means—nominalization, passivization, and the adoption of positive/negative words, in the scope of media discourse rather than simply in single term.
