摘要:
林纾和新文化运动诸人的笔战广为人知。作为林纾怒怼的目标之一，胡适在林纾死后，撰有《林琴南先生的白话诗》一文，对其进行盖棺定论。文章持论貌似公允，却暗含对林纾的清算。通过文献细读，联系“五四”前后的历史背景，可以更好还原当时的论战因果和林纾的复杂心路。
Abstract:
The arguments between Lin Shu and the practitioners of New Culture Movement were well known. As one of the targets criticized by Lin Shu, Hu Shi, after the death of Lin Shu, wrote an article “Mr. Lin Qinnan’s Vernacular Poetry” as his personal judgment of Lin Shu. The article seems fair, but in fact it is an implied criticism of Lin Shu. By reading the literature and considering the historical background before and after the May Fourth Movement, we can better understand the arguments between Lin and Hu at that time, as well as the complicated mentality of Lin Shu.
