摘要:
忠实地传达源语信息是译员的要求和目标,而语块应用也应是提高口译质量的重要途径。本研究以英语学习者为受试对象,探讨汉英口译中,语块使用与忠实度的相关性。研究结果表明:所有样本的语块使用都不够理想,尤其是非英语专业学生;语块使用标准频数与口译忠实度成正相关,英语专业学生达到强相关;英语专业学生更擅长使用会议类语块。基于以上研究,建议在英语教学中,应注重培养学生的语块意识并增加有效语块积累。
Abstract:
Faithful interpretation is a requirement and goal of interpretation, and chunk use should be an important method for improved interpretation quality. This study was conducted on 20 senior English majors and 20 college students’ performances in a consecutive English-Chinese interpreting task,and explored the relation between chunk use and interpretation faithfulness. The major results showed that the general use of chunks in the interpretation corpus was relatively low, especially for the college students. The overall occurrence of chunks was a better predictor of interpretation faithfulness. Besides, compared with college students, the English major students were better at using conference chunks. It was suggested that chunks learning could be included in college English education with importance placed on developing the chunk ideas and accumulations of chunks.
