摘要:
世界史上的现代化在政治上体现为民主化，在经济上主要特征是工业化，在地理范围上与全球化同步。近代以来，华侨华人是中国政治民主化的重要推动力，他们积极宣传民主思想，投身民主革命，与社会各阶层共同反抗外来侵略，实现民族独立和人民解放。在经济方面，华侨华人引入资本、兴办新型产业、传播先进技术，推动中国从传统农业社会向现代工业社会转型。在全球化进程中，华侨华人是沟通中国与世界、传统与现代的中介和桥梁，是文明交流互鉴的重要载体和媒介，是促进对外开放的先行者和主力军，同时也是人类命运共同体的重要参与者与积极践行者。
Abstract:
Modernization represents democratization in politics，is characterized by industrialization in economy，and moves along with globalization geographically.Since the modern times in China，the overseas Chinese are an important driver of the democratization of China’s politics.They publicized the western democratic thoughts and actively participated in China’s revolution，struggled with all classes of society against foreign aggression and helped realize national independence and people’s liberation.In the field of economy,they pushed forward the transition of China from agricultural society to industrial society through capital investment,set up industries and introduced advanced technology.In the process of globalization,overseas Chinese are the medium and bridge which connect China and the world，tradition and modernity;they are the significant carriers and media of exchanges and mutual learning among civilizations;they are not only the pioneer and main force of China’s Opening-up，but also an important participant and practitioner of the idea of the Community with a Shared Future for Mankind.
