摘要:
话语标记语是英语语言习得的重要内容。通过调查目前广泛使用的英语初学者教材中话语标记语的分布情况,发现话语标记语种类繁多、分布广泛、功能各异,使用频率不均性明显,具体表现在:时间类和阐述类标记语频率最高,而条件类和评价类等使用频率低;个体差异表现突出,如and的标准频率高达441,而lastly等只有03;同类中各标记语的频率分布也截然不同。基于顺应论进行语用分析,教材中话语标记语的不均衡分布现象可能给学习者带来正反两方面的影响。基于此,作者建议:教学中应重视频率较低的话语标记语,强调话语标记语的多样性,突出话语标记语与语言交际能力的关联性,可提高英语学习效果。
Abstract:
Discourse markers play a significant role in utterance production and interpretation. The distribution of discourse markers in English textbooks may influence beginners’ efficiency in learning English. Therefore, in this paper, discourse markers in English textbooks are investigated, attempting to reveal the features in their linguistic distribution as well as their positive and negative effects on beginners. In addition, discourse markers are analyzed in terms of pragmatic functions within the framework of linguistic adaptation theory. Findings show that discourse markers are employed with multifunctions and fairly high frequencies in beginners’ English textbook. It is also found that discourse markers occur with extremely different frequencies either among different categories or within the same category. Finally, it is suggested that teachers attach equal importance to discourse markers with low frequency, and arouse learners’ attention to the variation in each category. It is also suggested for the teachers to make great efforts in making learners practice all the discourse markers so as to improve their communicative competence.
