摘要:
定义独立学院的概念、阐述美国独立学院理事会的发展历程，借助独立学院理事会的出版物及其官方网站提供的资料，对独立学院理事会会员制度进行研究，发现：美国独立学院理事会会员制度完善，对中国独立学院协作会，具有一定的借鉴意义。在此基础上，结合中美高等教育发展实际，列举出四点借鉴意义。
Abstract:
The paper describes the definition of independent college and the development history of Council of Independent Colleges. And then it uses the data given by the Council of Independent Colleges’ publications and its official website to study its membership system, and comes to a conclusion that the membership system of American Council of Independent Colleges is perfect compared to China’s, so the latter should learn from the former. On the basis of the above, it combines with the actual situation of China-US higher education development, and gives some reference values to improve the membership system of China Council of Independent Colleges.
