摘要:

从中国近代体育教育的演进来看，清末至五四时期的西方教会大学起到了显著的开创和示范作用，从而对中国近代大学体育教育、乃至整个大学教育都产生了重大影响。从体育教育理念、课程设置、体育比赛、体育社团及场馆建设、体育人才培养等方面考察以圣约翰大学为代表的西方教会大学对中国体育教育事业深远而长久的影响。

Abstract:

In the history of modern Chinese Physical Education, Western Christian colleges during the end of Qing Dynasty to May-fourth Period played a prominent role as a pioneering model, exerting great influence on Modern Chinese Physical education and even the whole higher education system. The present paper aims at elaborating the profound effect of Christian colleges led by St. John College on Chinese Physical Education in terms of theoretical notions, curriculum, sports events, sports societies, sports facilities and sportspeople training.
