摘要:
新移民作家严歌苓的涉外小说表现了中国移民在美国的生活，涉及形形色色的“美国人”。小说塑造了自立自强的中国移民，解构了美国自塑的“救世主”形象，反映了不同的异国形象。形成这样的异国形象的原因主要有两点：一是中西文化的差异；二是作家的创作个性。
Abstract:
The novels by Yan Geling, a new immigrant writer, show the life of Chinese immigrants in the United States, relating to Americans of all kinds. The novels have created self-made Chinese immigrants, deconstructed the “savior” image claimed by America itself, and reflected a different exotic image. There are two causes for the formation of the exotic image: the differences between Chinese and Western culture, and the writer’s writing style.
