摘要:
在17—18世纪的英语文献中，ware、porcelain和china三词的含义都与瓷器有关，但仍存在细微的区别和联系。在跨文化视角下历史观念语境中对这三词进行词源和词义的考察，展示了中国瓷器的进口和仿制对英国语言中原有相关概念的影响，以及词义变化中的“现代化”观念的指涉。
Abstract:
In British literature of the 17th and 18th century, ware, porcelain and china had the same signified notions, but there were still subtle differences and connections among them. An investigation from a cross-cultural perspective is to reflect the etymology and meaning of these three words in historical context, showing that importation and imitation of porcelain from China had changed their original notions in the English language, and signifying their notions of modernization.
