摘要:: 在殖民主题上，《印度之行》是爱德华·摩根·福斯特最重要的作品。表面上，福斯特把小说里的印度和印度人民描写成后殖民主义理论中的典型“他者”，让人觉得他是一位坚定的殖民主义者。但是深入解读文本，发现他还具有浓厚的反殖民主义意识：随着故事情节的发展，英国人在印度的殖民统治遭到了抵制。这是具有殖民主义意识的反殖民主义斗士福斯特对英国殖民主义统治的批判，也是对殖民体系崩溃的预言，更是寄予印度人民的殷切希望与祝福。《印度之行》是一部充满着殖民主义与反殖民主义话语的现实主义小说，福斯特是一位集殖民主义与反殖民主义于一身的人文主义者。联结是他一生的创作主题，也是他在文本中要表达的思想：在混乱的世界上寻求人与人之间相互联结的秩序。

Abstract:: A Passage to India is Edward Morgan Forster’s most important work on colonialism issues.In the novel，Forster seemingly describes the colonized India and the Indians as the typical Others in postcolonialism，making people believe that he is a firm colonialist.But with further reading，its anti-colonialism rises：As the story goes，the English colonialism meets with resistance.This is Forster’s—an anti-colonialist with colonialism—criticism of colonialism and foretell of the English colonialism’s collapse and his ardent expectations and good wishes for the Indians.A Passage to India is a realistic novel of colonialism and anti-colonialism，and Forster is a humanist of colonialism and anticolonialism.Alliance is Forster’s lifetime theme，a theme that he wants to express in the novel：to seek an alliance in a world of chaos.
