印第安文化与地理环境、风景地貌存在着紧密的联系，而身份认同的建构在当代印第安文学的兴起和发展中具有传统意义和现代意义。围绕着原住民身份与风景地貌的关系，阐释了《沙丘花园》身份建构的过程与风景地貌的书写关系：风景地貌在一定程度上是描述本土主体身份认同与殖民关系的重要历史材料；风景地貌也是失去身份的流动印第安人的自我意义的参照物；风景地貌的发展演变以及由此产生的与身份认知有关的人工知识体系在《沙丘花园》中也有明显的再现。
Abstract:
Indian literature is closely related to the connotation of geographical environment and landscape.The construction of Indian identity in Indian literature also has historical and contemporary connotations.By exploring the dynamic relations in the practice of identity construction and the discourse which contains landscape in Gardens in the Dunes,this paper reveals how landscape affects the construction of Indian identity.To a certain extent，landscape is an important historical material to describe the identity and colonial relationship of Indians.Landscape is also a reference for the meaning of the displaced Indians.Indians distinguish themselves from the colonists’ dominance of knowledge and establish the spiritual aspect of Indian identity in Gardens in the Dunes.
