纽约文人从20世纪30年代至80年代末，经历了跌荡沉浮的发展历程，直至成为美国左翼文化运动的一个历史缩影。在系统梳理该群发展脉络的基础上，试图探究其思想演变的内在多重原因，着重分析桑塔格与该群体的代际互动关系，旨在阐发美国新旧左翼运动之间的文化传承，进而剖析其批评著述活动所产生的理论与现实意义。
Abstract:
The rise and fall of the New York Intellectuals can be regarded as an epitome of American leftist cultural movement in the 20th century.By tracing the development of this group，the paper tries to explore the intrinsic reasons of the evolution of its thoughts，with an emphasis on its unique contribution to American culture.Meanwhile，the paper analyzes the close connections of the new generation，and Sontag in particular，with that group and then articulates the interactions and relations between the New Left and Old Left，and thus reveals the significance of their critical writings in present financial crisis.
