摘要:: 作为当代南派石雕艺术代表作的鳌园石雕，因为主持人陈嘉庚先生的文化理念与那个特定年代——新中国建国之初十年的文化遇合，成为那个时代和那个时代中人的艺术代言。鳌园石雕有突出的主题，又有多样的文化投射，它是中国历史的画廊，也是中国革命史的画廊，还是中国传统文化的画廊，也镌刻着陈嘉庚先生个人深刻的文化印记。建设鳌园是陈嘉庚先生在毕生兴办学校教育的同时，以艺术形式教化民众的宏大构想与具体实践。因此，它的价值才超越了那个年代，并不断扩大着它的文化价值。

Abstract:: As a representative work of contemporary southern stone carving art，the stone carving in Turtle Garden became the artistic endorsement of that era and its people because it showed the integration of the cultural concept of Tan Kah Kee，the host of the Garden，and the culture of that particular era of the first ten years of New China.Engraved with Tan Kah Kee’s personal profound cultural imprint，it has a prominent theme and various cultural projections.It is a gallery of Chinese history，of Chinese revolutionary history，and of Chinese traditional culture.The construction of Turtle Garden was a grand idea and concrete practice for Tan Kah Kee to educate people in the form of art as he devoted all his life to school education.Therefore，its value transcended that era and continuously expands with its cultural influence.
