Title:: The Expression of the Ideas of Humanism through Remolding Historical Figures：A Narrative Study of Hilary Mantel’s Wolf Hall

摘要:: 英国新历史主义小说作家希拉里·曼特尔在《狼厅》中按照自己的理解、意愿和目的阐释历史，重塑了都铎王朝的几个重要人物，让他（她）们在自己和读者的心灵中复活，表现出强烈的人文意识：通过重塑托马斯·克伦威尔肯定了通过自我奋斗、关爱他人建立起稳定自我主体的意义；通过重塑托马斯·莫尔抨击了保守宗教观，暗示宗教信仰的“与时俱进”才是人类和谐相处的一剂良药；通过重塑阿拉贡的凯瑟琳、安妮·博林这两位女性形象表达了对女性命运的关怀。

Abstract:: In Wolf Hall，Hilary Mantel，a New Historicism novelist，has remolded several important characters in the Tudor era according to her own understanding，intention and purpose.She allows these characters to come to life in her own mind and those of her readers.This novel shows her strong humanistic consciousness.Through remolding Thomas Cromwell，she affirms the significance of building a stable self-subjectivity by self struggle and love for others.As a result of restructuring Thomas More’s character，she attacks the conservative religious outlook and implies that in order for people to live in harmony，religion should keep pace with the times.By reshaping two female images，Katherine of Aragon and Anne Boleyn，she expresses her concern for the fate of women.
