摘要:: 《东阳夜怪录》是一个有关士子科举的故事，科举是潜藏其中的重要叙事线索，决定故事的起因和发生发展；是一个发生在两京大道的故事，反映奔走道路的艰难困苦与悲伤感慨是人物对话的焦点和小说的主要内容；是一个反映求仕悲辛的故事，在主人公遭受饥寒、惊吓和屈辱以致身心俱疲的故事中隐含着求仕者的失落与悲伤。描写往返科举道路经历的艰辛困苦、意外惊吓与莫名屈辱，反映求仕者从身体到精神所遭受的折磨与痛苦，发泄求仕失败的抑郁和悲伤，是小说着意表达的思想主题。突出人物在故事中的主体地位和导向作用，具有比较自觉的主观表达意图是小说最鲜明的个性特征与独特价值。

Abstract:: Night Monsters in Dongyang is a story about the imperial examination of scholars.The imperial examination is an important narrative clue hidden in it,which determines the cause and development of the story.It is a story that takes place during the journey to and from the imperial examination,which reflects the hardship and sadness of the journey,it is the focus of the characters’ conversation and the main content of the novel.It is a story that reflects the sorrow and bitterness of the scholars attempting to seek an official position.In the story,the protagonist suffers from hunger and cold,fright and humiliation,which leads to his physical and mental exhaustion,reflecting the loss and sadness of the official position seekers.The theme of the novel is to describe the hardship,unexpected shocks and inexplicable humiliation experienced on the way to and from the imperial examination,to reflect the sufferings and pains of the official position seekers from the body to the spirit,and to vent their depression and sadness of the failure in the imperial examination.It is the most distinctive character and unique value of the novel to highlight the characters’ subject position and guiding role in the story and to have a conscious subjective expression intention.
