摘要:
朱子在外做“官”短，在乡做“绅”长。他扎根福建农村，蛰居武夷山中，是一名杰出的乡绅。从18岁举建州乡贡算起，朱子做了45年的乡绅，并可划为四期。乡居时光带来思想学术活动的爆发：第一乡绅期达20年，已奠定朱子六子之学与四书之学的规模；后三期除对前期思考不断润色提升，又拓展到蒙学、礼学等领域。直接面向乡民的典型的乡绅活动，显著的是在乡里示范、提倡礼教，以及五夫社仓事件：关于前者，他恭敬持身，躬行“礼俗相交”“患难相恤”等乡约信条；关于后者，他以开创性的魄力普惠民生，践行乡绅慈善事业。
Abstract:
Master Zhu (Zhu Xi) served long in his native place as a scholar-esquire, while serving only for a short time as an official in other places. Living a reclusive and rural life in Wuyi Mountains, Fujian Province, for about 45 years since his 18, Zhu turned out to be a kind and preeminent esquire with his fellow countrymen. Those 45 years, a time when his scholarly activities exploded, were divided into four periods, and it is during the first period, which lasted for 20 years, that Zhu almost completed the construction of his whole philosophical and historical systems. Among those things he did totally for the sake of his fellow countrymen are his popularization of Confucian rituals and his building of Wufu granary for common good. He performed those Confucian rituals which were suitable for the countryside. In order to educate illiterate people, and he maintained a gentle relationship with his rural neighbors. And the Wufu granary he built was something like a charity bank, which was non-profit and lent grains only to poor people in need in the countryside.
